Spend Halloween Enjoying the Tales of German Author, E.T.A Hoffmann, with Your Family
Jacques Offenbach's magnum opus interweaves four stories derived from the works of romantic German author E. T. A. Hoffmann, who is the opera’s lead character. Making their Opera Orlando debuts, Metropolitan Opera tenor Won Whi Choi sings the title role, with Cuban-born soprano Laura León singing all four female heroines.
Baritone Dennis Jesse, who was a principal in Opera Orlando’s 2016 production of Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, will portray the four villains. Also, making their Opera Orlando debuts will be Argentinian conductor Jorge Parodi and stage director Eve Summer.
Opera Orlando’s production will highlight the magic and fantasy of each individual story within a steampunk landscape of smoke and mirrors. Get in the Halloween spirit, break out your best steampunk attire, and come in costume to the October 30th performance!
At Episcopal Catholic Apartments in Winter Haven, Florida, it is clear that we have it all, but we still feel obliged to inform you of all the events our community has scheduled. Please feel free to join in all of the fun at this event!
